Requirement An Automatic Test system that will measure, record and document LAN cables for QA purposes. The system must perform all transmission measurements that are required by international standards. | ||

Solution The LAN Cable being tested is connected via a computer-controlled switching and signal-routing system to an Agilent Network Analyzer. The Network Analyzer communicates with the test computer via GPIB and the switching system by RS232. The measurement program, written by Westplex in LabVIEWTM, controls and acquires measurements from the Network Analyzer and controls the switching system. Calibration procedures are provided. The operator can specify complex test limits, select test procedures, perform tests, calculate results, view results and compile test documentation. |
