A control and monitoring system for a Cathodic Protection system installed in the water reticulation system of a power station.

The monitoring and control program is written in LabViewTM , which acquires measurements and outputs analogue control signals via National Instruments’ FieldPointTM remote data acquisition and control modules, connected through a 100Mbit Ethernet network.

The system includes:

• Simple and comprehensive password-protected system configuration and test panels.
• Measurement of feed currents and voltages at 130 points.
• Analogue control of power feed units at 130 points.
• Closed loop control of the power feed at each point, using one of several individually- selectable loop feedback algorithms.
• Alarm annunciation and data logging.
• Execution of specialized measurement sequences at each feed/measurement point.
• Dual master/standby computer configuration, with automatic change-over.
• Remote displays of system, using National Instruments’ DataSocketTM
